The VW Classic 99 was an absolute blast. This show took place on June 12, 1999 in Irvine California. Me and my fiance Julie drove 500 miles to get to the classic, from Redding California. The hotel above is the " OFFICIAL VW CLASSIC HOTEL ", which is where most of the vendors stayed, and where the toy show on Saturday June 11th took place. The soto meet also takes place on Saturday the 11th, however we did not attend it. This event is will be the most comprehensive article we have ever done, since there is nearly 25 pictures that will be in this article alone. The VW Classic show is something to see, It was my first time and I was amazed at the turnout, and the loyalty of people This limo was for sale, I think the asking price was $15,000 . Yes, the manxclub was at the classic, and I actually talked to famous Bruce Meyers, did you hear the manxclub is making a limited edition of the old manxes again? WAY COOL! There was plenty of kids having fun at the show, especially this guy with a new beetle RC car.

These two busses above are the Barnes brothers busses, Everett and Dave Barnes. You have probably seen Dave's Black bug in the febraury 2000 issue of VW Trends. Everett has a 55 Barndoor here, and Dave also has a 63 15 window I believe. Above is Technical Editor Dave Cormack and his beautiful 21 window deluxe bus. Dave has been a friend of mine for sometime now, and is a real fun guy to be around at the shows. Heck, he even let me drive the VWT New Beetle Turbo 1.8 liter! The other guy taking the picture of Dave waving is Stefan, an editor for SUPER VW MAGAZINE in France. The samba above was one perfect 23 window, it was for sale and the asking price was $35,000 !!!
