VW.NET & VWOA STILL BATTLING
Volkswagen of America's claim of copyright infrigement by the internet service provider Virtual Works was denied two months ago. A Judge ruled that the trademark class that VW owns for their trademark does not apply to .net domain names. .net are for internet service providers, not automanufacturers.

This is a huge win for Virtual Works, but now, VWOA has appealed this claim, and internet service provider Virtual Works may now lose his domain VW.NET which he registered back in 1996. This battle has been going on now for over a year !

CYBERSQUATTERS WITH VW DOMAINS
It is interesting to see how many people out there are buying VW specific domain names, only hoping to sell them back to the big boys. Some of the domain names taken lately that are for sale are hotvw.com, and vwtrends.com. Congress in the future is attempting to pass a law that stops cybersquatters before they start. Cybersquatting is known as registering a domain name of a company who has a registered trademark, and attempting to sell it back. Check out www.hotvw.com for more info.

50 YEARS OF THE VW BUS
This past month was the 50 year anniversary of the VW bus. The bus was first produced in 1950 in Germany, where there was only a handful produced. The original bus designs came from a man named Ben Pon, who worked with Ferdinand Porshe at VWAG. It is amazing how after 50 years the VW bus is more alive today than it ever has been.

NEW VW SITE
For those of you watercooled lovers, you had better take a look at this website related to the New Beetle. It is a troubling story of life with a New Beetle. You can visit the website at www.turbobeetle.com.

This is definitely a site that ALL VW people should look at.
